Tata Power shares up 0.51% as Sensex rises
Tata Power Shares of Tata Power Company Ltd. gained 0.51 percent to Rs. 98.5 in Thursday’s session as of 10:31 AM (IST). Even as the equity benchmark Sensex traded 159.84 points higher at 49893.68.
Earlier in the day, the stock witnessed a gap-up start to the session. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs. 114.95 and a 52-week low of Rs. 27.0 on NSE. Around 1452732 shares changed hands on the counter till 10:31 AM (IST).
Moreover, the stock opened at Rs. 98.9 and has touched an intraday high and low of Rs. 100.2 and Rs. 98.2. During the session so far. The scrip quoted a price-to-earnings (PE) ratio of 27.7, earnings per share (EPS) of Rs. 3.56 and price to book value (PB) of 0.49. While the return on equity (ROE) stood at Rs. 5.63.
The promoters held a 46.86 percent stake in the company as of April 29th. While FII and MF ownerships stood at 12.17 percent and 8.83 percent, respectively.
With a market capitalization of Rs. 31490.07 crore, the company operates in the Power – Integrated industry. For the quarter ended 31-Dec-2020, the company reported consolidated sales of Rs. 7702.84 crore, down 8.75 percent from the previous quarters. Rs. 8441.6 crore and down 7.94 percent from the same quarter a year ago. The company reported a net profit of Rs. 248.21 crore for the latest quarter, up 38.77 percent.
The relative strength index (RSI) of the stock stands at 49.97. The RSI oscillates between zero and 100. Traditionally, it is considered an overbought condition when the RSI value is above 70 and an oversold condition when it is below 30. Analysts say the RSI indicator should not be seen in isolation, as it may not be sufficient to take a trading call, just the way a fundamental analyst cannot give a “buy” or “sell” recommendation using a single valuation ratio.
